Usability
The app features a user-friendly interface that is easy to navigate. Upon opening the app, users will find options such as "Explore," "Shop," "Account," "Warehouse," and "Cart" at the bottom of the screen. A search function allows users to locate specific items or deals efficiently. You can also create a shopping list or wishlist, enhancing the app's usability.
However, I occasionally encounter minor issues; the app can sometimes be slow or unresponsive.
Design
The design of the Costco app closely aligns with the brand's identity. It is clean, simple, and focused on functionality. The color scheme features Costco's signature blue and red, creating a familiar user experience. High-quality product images are essential for online shopping, enabling users to view items clearly before purchasing.

I have some recommendations to enhance the app's functionality further.
1. In-App Bar Scanner: Introducing a bar scanner for checking out items directly on the phone could significantly improve the shopping experience. Currently, this feature is only available to Costco credit card holders. Making it accessible to all members would streamline the process. For instance, the Samsung Club app offers a "scan and go" feature, allowing users to shop and check out without waiting in line.
2. Price Comparison Tool: Implementing a price comparison tool would enable members to compare prices with other retailers such as Amazon, Target, and Walmart. This feature would benefit budgeting and ensuring members receive the best deals.
3. Personalized Recommendations: Offering personalized product suggestions based on past browsing or purchasing history can significantly increase member engagement and improve the overall shopping experience.
These enhancements could make the app more user-friendly and enjoyable for all members.
One of my peers commented, "I am learning a lot about different applications. I love Costo but didn't know they had their own Costos app. Furthermore, the only complaint is that scanning the membership card feature takes too long. Besides that, this app is fantastic.
